Additional information

To apply, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline)
  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field
  • Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, or Honours degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant overseas Bachelor’s degree

Relevant fields include: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, IT, Maths, Software Engineering, or Statistics.

Once you apply, UNE will review your qualifications and place you in the right course structure based on your background.

All UNE programmes are delivered in English, so you’ll need to demonstrate one of the following qualifications for eligibility:
  • IELTS Academic: Overall 6.0 (no band below 5.5) 
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall 79 (with at least 22 in writing) 
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 57 (no skill below 50) 
  • Successful completion of an approved English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program 
  • One year of full-time study (within the last 5 years) in a country where English is the official language and sole medium of instruction 
  • A pass in an approved English subject at Australian Year 12 level (or recognised equivalent) 
  • Current registration with a recognised body (e.g. AHPRA, NESA) with English requirements equivalent to or higher than UNE’s standards
