Speak the language of a connected world

Over 7,000 living languages shape how we communicate, connect, and collaborate around the globe.

UNE’s Master of Applied Linguistics puts you at the heart of this rich tapestry, teaching you to understand not just words, but the cultural stories and contexts behind them.

As globalisation bridges borders, your skills in language design, intercultural communication, and TESOL will open doors across education, business, social services, and beyond—making you a vital link in an interconnected world.

Decode language, then design your career

This degree lets you explore language as a living system. You’ll explore how it’s learned, how it shapes classrooms, courtrooms, healthcare, and how culture gives it meaning.

Plus, grasp all things phonetics, syntax, and semantics, uncovering how language works beneath the surface.

With specialised pathways in TESOL, intercultural communication for business and services, or a general major, you can tailor your studies to fit your career ambitions and become a language expert ready to lead in an interconnected world.
