About this degree

Explore the role of mental health psychology in treatment and recovery

What drives mental wellbeing, and how can psychological interventions help those in crisis? This course takes you through the complexities of mental health, from understanding how disorders develop to exploring evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

You’ll learn how to assess psychological conditions, apply therapeutic techniques, and support individuals on their path to recovery—building the knowledge and confidence to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Learn how evidence-based practice improves patient outcomes

Effective mental health care relies on research and real-world application. Through this course, you’ll explore how psychological assessments, data analysis, and evidence-based therapies enhance treatment effectiveness.

You’ll also develop key communication skills to work with patients and healthcare teams, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need in times of crisis. By applying these insights, you’ll be equipped to improve mental health outcomes in clinical, counselling, or community settings.

Build essential skills for a career in mental health psychology

To thrive in mental health psychology, you need more than theoretical knowledge—you need practical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to connect with those in need.

This degree helps you develop those abilities by exploring personality differences, intelligence, and social psychology, alongside hands-on training in psychotherapeutic interventions. Whether you aim to work in therapy, research, or mental health support, you’ll graduate ready to apply your expertise and contribute to the well-being of others.
