To be eligible for this degree, you’ll need an honours degree (at least a 2:2) in any discipline, a professional qualification, and/or relevant work experience.

You’ll study remotely via the TUOnline virtual learning platform, allowing you to progress at a pace that suits your schedule. 

Lecture recordings are divided into manageable segments linked directly to weekly assignments and reading materials.

This module helps you build the skills to analyse, conduct, and assess qualitative research in applied psychology. You’ll get hands-on experience with transcribing and analysing data, while exploring the key theories behind designing qualitative projects. Along the way, you’ll dive into the philosophical roots of qualitative methods and learn how to collect psychological evidence.

Split into two parts, this module explores both biopsychology and social psychology. You’ll look at biological, neurological, and social explanations for a range of psychological topics. Plus, you’ll discover how evolutionary theories help explain human behaviour, and learn about the scientific ways we study social interactions.

On this module, you’ll explore key ideas in developmental and cognitive psychology. The first half focuses on development through the lifespan, tackling competing perspectives and current debates. The second half shifts to cognitive processes, covering everything from healthy functioning to disorders — with insights from experiments, neuropsychology, and cognitive neuroscience.

This module takes you on a journey from the discipline’s beginnings to where it is today, busting common myths along the way. You’ll explore five core areas: cognitive, social, developmental, biological psychology, and individual differences, plus some history and big ideas behind the science. It’s the perfect foundation to build your psychological literacy.

Here, you’ll deepen your understanding of mental health conditions and individual psychological differences. This module challenges you to critically evaluate different theories and builds your skills in using psychometric tests to assess these areas.

This module boosts your confidence and ability to design psychological research using a variety of methods. You’ll explore the philosophical foundations of quantitative research, practical and ethical issues, and get hands-on experience analysing data and writing reports. By the end, you’ll be ready to critically evaluate research and conduct your own rigorous studies.

This module supports you as you design and run your own research project. You’ll learn about evidence-based practice, research skills, and project management, all with guidance from a supervisor. By the end, you’ll be confident in writing up your findings for publication.
